The government should be more open to whistleblowers and give attention to wrongdoings that they expose, urges a PKR people's representative.

Akmal Nasir, who is Johor Bahru MP, said yesterday's statement by the Health Ministry - where it warned civil servants against making public statements without approval - is seen as an attempt to block the truth from the rakyat.

"When healthcare workers choose to issue public statements together with evidence without revealing their identities, this is a sign that they are not confident with the effectiveness of the government to protect...
