Education institution in Johor, Kelantan placed under EMCO - minister
One educational institution each in Johor and Kelantan will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (MCO) from tomorrow until May 6 following a sudden surge in Covid-19 cases there.

Senior Minister (Security) Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the institutions involved were Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Johor Bahru in Johor and Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Al-Asriah, Banggol Chicha in Pasir Mas, Kelantan.
“So far, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has carried out 228 screenings at SMKA Johor Bahru and 13 positive cases were recorded.
“At the Maahad Tahfiz Al-Quran Al-Asriah, 28 positive cases were recorded from 46 screenings,” he said in a statement today.
He said the implementation of the enhanced MCO was to facilitate the MOH in carrying out targeted screening on all those involved and, subsequently, curb the spread of Covid-19 to other communities.
He also announced that the enhanced MCO in two areas in Sabah and one in Pahang would end tomorrow (April 23) following a drop in new cases, no more samples awaiting results, and the clusters there being under control.
The two areas in Sabah are the Sandakan Industrial Training Institute in Taman Permata and Taman Seri Labuk in the Sandakan district as well as Kampung Gayang in Tuaran. The one in Pahang involved Ladang Leepang, Ladang Laukin, and Kampung Inoi in Rompin.
Meanwhile, he said 200 individuals were arrested for violating the standard operating procedure (SOP) yesterday, with 198 of them compounded and two others remanded.
On Ops Benteng, he said six undocumented immigrants were detained and nine land vehicles seized.
