The university in a statement this afternoon announced the passing, but did not provide any details.

"With deep sadness, we convey the passing of Lim Kok Wing, our founder president.
"A visionary, his career has been synonymous with creativity, and he assisted in developing innovative education globally, empowering especially the developing world.
"We are humbled by the loving condolences and support extended by so many, and ask for privacy as we mourn a man we are very proud of," the university said.
Contacted earlier, a spokesperson for the university could not hold back tears. She said staff members were waiting for news on Lim's status.
According to other news reports, Lim, 75, died this morning while receiving treatment at a hospital.
On May 25, the university issued a statement saying that Lim was hospitalised after suffering a fall in his house.
He was reported to be in a stable condition and was recuperating.
Lim, who was also known as an artist and designer, had a stint as a public campaign coordinator for then prime minister Najib Abdul Razak in 2015, reportedly to help shore up his dwindling support.
However, he reportedly resigned in July that year, less than two months after.
