Netizens slam maskless Annuar Musa visiting food stall
Former federal territories minister Annuar Musa sparked controversy this morning when he uploaded pictures on Twitter showing him visiting a food stall without wearing a face mask.
“Good news and wait for it… I’ve found a stall selling cold beverage mixed rice near my house in KL! Not just that, there’s even Nasi Tumpang and Lompat Tikam.
“The sellers are unlicensed. I hope the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will not catch them, or else they will have their supply cut off,” Annuar tweeted.

The tweet has since been deleted but netizens were quick to point out he was violating the mask mandate as stipulated in standard operating procedures (SOPs) against Covid-19 and criticised him for knowingly visiting a food stall.
Annuar was on his morning walk when he found the food stall, as he uploaded several pictures of him in the same sports attire while holding a walking cane, prior to the food stall tweet.
Members of the public do not need to wear a mask when exercising near their residences, but they are still required to wear one when interacting with others.
This is in addition to keeping a one-metre physical distance, according to SOPs listed by the government.
Taking to Facebook, Annuar later defended his action, noting the comments criticising him for not wearing a mask.
"For sure when doing outdoor recreation, jogging, brisk walking, cycling, playing football and others, it is advised to not wear a mask," he said.
When Annuar was the federal territories minister, he removed the licensing requirement for street food stalls.
Annuar, who is also Umno’s MP for Ketereh, just met with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong shortly before noon.
He and 113 other MPs were summoned to the National Palace by the King, who is expected to verify the MPs' support for Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob to become prime minister.
This comes as Umno is set to form a new government with Ismail Sabri at the helm after Bersatu’s Muhyiddin Yassin resigned as prime minister on Monday.
