Malaysia is on the brink of success in its fight against Covid-19, said Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
He called on the public to continue observing the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government.
"I know the public has become restless and does not want to wear face masks.
"There is now a 40 percent drop in hospital bed (admissions) for Covid-19 patients. Therefore, if we continue to observe the SOP against Covid-19 and also appreciate the sacrifices of frontliners, we can win," he said.
He was speaking at a ceremony which took place today at Klinik Kesihatan Penambang in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.
Also present at the event was Kelantan state executive councillor in charge of local government, health, and housing Dr Izani Husin as well as Health Ministry secretary-general Mohd Shafiq Abdullah.
Khairy also said there are only two states - Kelantan and Sarawak - that are still under Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) while other states have all moved to Phase 4.
Yesterday, Senior Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein announced five states - Perlis, Perak, Penang, Sabah, and Kedah will move from Phase 3 to 4 of the NRP effective Nov 8.
This, he said, is after taking into account risk assessment conducted by the Health Ministry and National Security Council (NSC).
