Air Selangor has announced the temporary shutdown of the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant due to diesel odour pollution that was detected in Sungai Semenyih.
Following this closure, a total of 463 areas in five regions, namely Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (194 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (20 areas) are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions.
Air Selangor has activated its emergency response plan to provide alternative water supply to affected consumers.
A total of 81 water tanker trucks will be mobilised to the affected areas and critical premises.
Air Selangor will keep the public informed of developments from time to time through its official communication channels such as the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or the Air Selangor Contact Centre at 15300.
