The Health Ministry has extended Pharmaniaga Bhd’s services to provide medicines and medical supplies to the ministry for another year from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2022.

The ministry issued a letter, dated Dec 28 to Pharmaniaga’s wholly-owned subsidiary Pharmaniaga Logistics Sdn Bhd (PLSB), giving the extension, pending the finalising of new logistics and distribution concessions.

Pharmaniaga said in a statement that the scope of services to be provided by PLSB are similar to the terms stipulated in the concession agreement dated March 16, 2011.

“With the extension, Pharmaniaga assures the logistics and distribution of medical supplies will continue as usual without any interruption,” the company said.

On Nov 18, 2019, PLSB received a letter from the Health Ministry extending its services to provide medicines and medical supplies to ministry facilities from Dec 1, 2019 to Dec 31, 2021.

PLSB was also allowed to continue to provide logistics and distribution services to the ministry for five years ending Dec 31, 2024, the statement says.
