JOHOR POLLS | The time has come for Perikatan Nasional Youth to teach politicians and parties who became arrogant after being helped by PAS a lesson, according to its chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari.
Fadhli said in the past PAS had campaigned "sincerely" for BN candidates in the Tanjung Piai by-election, held on Nov 16, 2019, during Pakatan Harapan's tenure in Putrajaya.
PAS at the time was a part of the opposition bloc and had just entered into a cooperation with Umno through the Muafakat Nasional pact, while PN had yet to exist.
Fadhli recalled how PAS had mobilised its machinery and supporters to back MCA's Wee Jeck Seng - who eventually won the seat - but now there are parties accusing PAS of being insincere.
"I don't want to mention names, but is this the value of a friendship? Is this how you value a friendship?," he said during the launch of PN Youth machinery in Batu Pahat last night.

'Harapan must not win'
Ties between Umno and PAS remains strained with both parties launching scathing attacks between them.
The attacks include those from PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang who viewed Umno as a party without morals for wanting to chart its own path after receiving help from PAS, following BN's loss in GE14.
Hadi - who is known for his animal analogies - also labelled Umno a lame duck, prompting Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to retaliate, urging the special envoy with minister's status to reconsider politics and start a career in zoology.
Further, Fadhli said Johor has become a gathering spot for BN leaders whose statements have hurt the feelings of PAS and PN.
"So the time has come for us to teach those among them who are arrogant. Not all of them," said Fadhli who did not single out any Umno leaders.
The PAS Youth chief, meanwhile, predicted that Harapan will not win in Johor and therefore there was "no need to attack" the coalition that formed government after GE14.
"In the current situation, Harapan can't win. Harapan is now a coalition with no hope," he claimed.
In an immediate response, Umno supreme council member Armand Azha Abu Hanifah instead urged Ahmad Fadhli to learn the art of politics from PAS' Bachok MP Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz.
Armand said Fadhli should exercise more maturity in politics rather than launch emotional attacks against his rivals.
"Nik Abduh has never issued any offensive statements, but instead found ways to negotiate and find a solution," said Armand in a statement.
"Umno respects all political parties, respect our political allies from BN, PN and even rivals in Harapan," he said, adding that Umno-BN is ready to face any opponents in Johor.
