A partnership between Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn Bhd and Bionet-Asia Co Ltd will “reduce import dependency” for vaccines, said Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry Azmin Ali.
A collaboration between Pharmaniaga Research Centre Sdn Bhd and Bio-Innova Co Ltd will deliver innovative scientific solutions in pharmaceutical product development, he added.
“These are the touchstones for advancement in the health and medical sectors for any nation to move ahead in the 21st century,” the minister said on Twitter yesterday.
Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Azmin (above) today witnessed the signing of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn Bhd and Bionet-Asia Co Ltd.
They also witnessed the signing of a licensed manufacturer agreement between Covid Medicare Support Ins (CMSI) and Acquest Healthcare Stem Cell Research & Development Co Ltd.
The MOU signings were part of the prime minister’s three-day official visit to Thailand, which began yesterday, to elevate bilateral ties.
Azmin said his ministry, Miti, has taken crucial steps in “ameliorating the economic repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Going forward, we will continue to spearhead policies and strategies such as these aimed at ensuring vibrant and sustainable socio-economic growth,” he added.
