PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and vice-president Rafizi Ramli, both running for deputy presidency post in the upcoming party poll, will face each other for the first time in a debate on May 11.

The 90-minute programme dubbed "Berani Semuka: Siapa Layak Bersama Anwar" will be aired live on all Sinar Harian platforms at 3pm next Wednesday (May 11), according to Sinar Harian Group editor-in-chief Rozaid Rahman.

Rozaid, in a statement, said the Saifuddin-Rafizi debate is timely as the PKR election this year will be seen as an indication of which leader will eventually take over PKR's leadership from party president Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar had retained the presidency for the 2022-25 term uncontested.

Rozaid said the debate would test the credibility of both candidates on current issues as well questions on PKR's future and leadership.

The debate will begin with an introductory session followed by questions from each other and from the moderator.
