PKR man wants probe into Hulu Selangor polls 'sabotage'

Party members had turned up at early as 7.30am to vote - but only to be turned away after no facilities were prepared as the venue at Bukit Beruntung Golf and Country Resort was empty.
The fiasco has turned into a blame game between incumbent Hulu Selangor division chief June Leow and the PKR election committee.
Leow, who is also the Hulu Selangor MP, had taken to Facebook accusing the PKR central election committee of "sleeping" on the job and she later deleted the post.
The committee insisted that it is the duty of the incumbent divisional chief to ensure proper facilities for members to vote.
"If the other 21 divisions in Selangor can hold their election and only Hulu Selangor is facing facilities issue then there is something wrong with the division.
"The central leadership should take stern action towards the individuals involved," Soundararajan(above) said.
Formal complaint to be lodged
Soundararajan said he would be lodging a formal complaint about the postponement of last Saturday's divisional vote.
He alleged there was a sabotage attempt, claiming that supporters of a certain candidate had asked them to return home as early as 9am.
"How did they know there would be no vote as early as 9am when the central election committee only made the official announcement at 11am?" he asked.
PKR central election committee chairperson Zaliha Mustapa, when contacted, said all complaints would be scrutinised.
"Some complaints have merits, some have been responded to.
"There are some, where the complainants are called for more details and there are also the accused who have been called to explain and defend against the complaints," she said.
To date, Zaliha said, the committee has received more than 300 complaints nationally.
Leow is defending her post of division chief against challengers Dr Sathia Prakash Nadarajah and businessperson Azizan Zakaria.
