The Health Ministry yesterday reported 2,166 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative infections to 4,523,018.

Health authorities also recorded one new fatality yesterday, putting the death toll at 35,709.

Active cases stood at 22,751, down 9.7 percent compared to 14 days ago.

The sole death yesterday was reported in Negeri Sembilan.

Over the past week, an average of 4.0 people were reported to have died of Covid-19.

There were 129 deaths last month and 564 deaths in April.

There are 936 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 24 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (114) followed by Johor (104) and Sabah (68).
