Fledgling Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) has suffered its second defection by a lawmaker this year with the exit of Batu Lintang assemblyperson See Chee How.
Sarawak legislative assembly speaker Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar announced See’s (above) exit from PSB in Kuching today.
Asfia said he received a letter from See on Friday stating that the latter was no longer a PSB member and no reason was given for the change.
See is a three-term Batu Lintang assemblyperson. His first two election victories were on a PKR ticket, while the third was with PSB.
He was sacked from PKR in April 2020 and joined PSB a month later.

In March, Sri Aman MP Masir Kujat quit PSB as well. Masir won his seat in the Dewan Rakyat while he was a member of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and used the BN logo during the 2018 parliamentary election.
Attempts to reach See for comments were unsuccessful.
PSB president Wong Soon Koh said his party would uphold oral and written commitments by See before he was nominated as a candidate for Batu Lintang.
“This included an undertaking to compensate the party if he chooses to resign after winning the seat as a PSB candidate.
“It also included an undertaking to resign from his position as an assemblyperson if he resigns from PSB after winning the seat.
“See is a senior lawyer, and he knew what he committed to in writing before he was given the surat watikah (authorisation letter) to represent PSB in the last Sarawak election,” the PSB president added.
