PAS MUKTAMAR | Top PAS leaders have been urged to help motivate Johor PAS grassroots who are not keen on helping the party's election preparation.

Speaking at the PAS annual delegates' assembly in Kedah today, Johor delegate Karim Deraman said local leaders have tried in vain to do so and now need outside help.

"It's bad enough that our numbers (in Johor) are small. Now they don't want to campaign.

"We are fed up (muak) in Johor. When Johor leaders try to motivate (the grassroots), (they say) we're only local leaders.

"Therefore, we are asking national leaders to frequent Johor," he added.

The Johor PAS deputy chief said the state chapter hopes to win at least one parliamentary seat in the state.

PAS has never won a parliamentary seat in Johor before.

Karim also urged PAS national leaders to help them forge ties with their Johor Umno counterparts.

"We have sent letters (to Johor Umno) seeking a meeting but we were ignored," he said.
