#CarpoolGE15 back as polls loom

While the Election Commission has yet to announce the dates for the 15th general election (GE15), some folks have begun to warm their engines to face the looming polls. 

A group of Malaysians who set up a carpooling initiative during GE14 for voters working across the nation and even Singapore is back and all geared up for a new edition - #CarpoolGE15.

Taking to Twitter, the admin of @CarpoolGE15 quipped, “WE ARE READY. #CarpoolGE15”.

The return of the initiative was well received by netizens, with some offering help to fellow Malaysians who may find it difficult to return to their hometown to vote.

“How can I be of help to assist? Let me know. Need to strategise logistics at important areas,” one Twitter user posted.

Several Twitter users also refused to pass up the opportunity to take a jab at caretaker prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s administration for calling a snap poll during the seasonal floods period. 

“Maybe have boatpool also? Damn Umno for forcing on us #undibanjir” 

Yesterday, following weeks of intense speculation over GE15 being held during the annual monsoon season, Ismail Sabri announced the dissolution of Parliament.

According to Article 55(4) of the Federal Constitution, GE15 must be held within 60 days of the dissolution.
