Amirudin: ‘Interesting’ to go against Azmin-Azwan brothers in Gombak

Pakatan Harapan’s Gombak candidate Amirudin Shaari said he finds it interesting to be contesting against two brothers in the 15th general election.

This came after Azwan Ali announced his intention to contest in the constituency as an independent candidate against his brother, Azmin Ali.

“This is a democratic country. Anyone who is eligible may contest.

“But it’s interesting to be going against two brothers. The elder and younger siblings meet.

“What is important is that we offer and wish to bring forward. That’s what's important,” Amirudin (above) told reporters in Gombak today.

Azwan had announced his plans to contest the election earlier today, declaring that he will “bury” his brother Azmin come polling day on Nov 19.

He urged Gombak voters to "open their minds" before casting their ballots.

“This is not a question of (any) party, but (it's about) dignity. We can't buy dignity.

“If someone betrays what he has been preaching about for years, it's like his dignity is gone with the wind.

“So how can someone like Azmin be respected any longer?” said the controversial celebrity, who is also known by his moniker Diva AA.

Azmin has been Gombak MP for three terms, which he had won under PKR ticket. This time, he will be contesting as a Perikatan Nasional candidate instead.
