I’m not pulling out from Padang Serai race, Sofee tells BN opponent

The Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Padang Serai parliamentary polls, Mohamad Sofee Razak said he would not pull out from the electoral race.

“This is not about me. Padang Serai has been Harapan’s stronghold for the last 15 years.

“So, there is no question about Harapan pulling out from contesting the Padang Serai seat,” he said.

Sofee was responding to calls from his BN opponent, C Sivarraajh, who urged the former to pull out so as to not split the votes.

“I respect Sivarraajh’s opinion of asking Harapan to pull out from the race and throw our weight for BN to win the by-election but why not BN drop out from the race instead?” Sofee asked during an election campaign with Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun in Kulim today.

The Padang Serai election will be held on Dec 7.

Meanwhile, Sofee urged his Perikatan Nasional (PN) opponent Azman Nasruddin to apologise to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for describing the unity government of Putrajaya as an “adulterous” one.

“The monarch came up with this solution as no coalition had a clear majority post-GE15.

“As such, the king had invited Harapan chairperson Anwar Ibrahim to form a unity government, which led to the latter being appointed as Malaysia’s 10th prime minister,” he stated.
