7-Eleven Malaysia names Anwar’s former aide as chairperson
The convenience store chain 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd has named PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s former political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak as its new chairperson.

The convenience store chain 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd has named PKR president Anwar Ibrahim’s former political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak as its new chairperson.
According to a Bernama report citing the company’s filings with Bursa Malaysia, he replaces Robin Tan Yeong Ching who has resigned as chairperson today to pursue other interests.
Tan, who is the son of the Berjaya Group’s tycoon Vincent Tan, was appointed as 7-Eleven Malaysia’s chairperson on Nov 25, 2021.
“Farhash (above) brings with him more than a decade’s worth of experience in the field of business, consultancy, and advisory.
“In the business front, his illustrious career spans a broad range of sectors which include construction, technology, hotel, food and beverage.
“He is also a staunch advocate to promoting the development of the small and medium enterprises (SME) industry in the country,” the company reportedly said.
Farhash was Anwar’s aide and Perak PKR chairperson until he stepped down last year.
He told Malaysiakini at the time that the resignation was so that his participation in the PKR election would not affect Anwar’s party presidency. He ultimately lost his bid for vice-presidency and Gombak division chief.
Meanwhile, Bernama highlighted that Farhash is or had been a director and/or shareholder in at least ten private companies including Swag Technologies Sdn Bhd, Salvador & Sons Sdn Bhd, and Pacific Samudera Sdn Bhd.
He presently sits on the board of advisory of Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia, a non-government organisation that thrives on the frontier of gathering, creating, and developing sustainable companies with strong entrepreneurship traits.
He is also group executive chairperson of Apex Equity Holdings Bhd and a director of Berjaya Construction Bhd.
