Report: Hamzah meeting with Sabah Bersatu at noon, announcement after

Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin will reportedly have a special meeting with Sabah Bersatu at noon today.

Hamzah (above) is also expected to hold a press conference after the meeting, as reported by Astro Awani.

This comes amid the political turmoil in Sabah after the state BN withdrew its support for Chief Minister Hajiji Noor on Friday.

Hajiji then met with Sabah governor Juhar Mahiruddin on Saturday afternoon at the Istana Seri Kinabalu for almost an hour.

However, the chief minister did not speak to the media stationed outside the palace as he left the meeting yesterday.

Before that meeting, Hajiji had earlier announced that the state cabinet will be reshuffled, with further details to be announced afterward.

Aside from Sabah Umno chief Bung Moktar Radin having withdrawn its support for Hajiji, Peter Anthony from Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) also did the same.

However, Bung himself has admitted that not all Umno/BN assemblypersons agreed with the move to withdraw support from Hajiji.

Five Sabah Umno assemblypersons have also since come forward to announce their undivided support for Hajiji as the chief minister.

The five are Shahelmey Yahya (Tanjung Keramat), Jasnih Daya (Pantai Dalit), James Ratib (Sugut), Yusuf Yacob (Sindumin), and Mohd Arsad Bistari (Tempasuk).
