Floods: PAS Youth censures 'clueless constituency-hopper' Anwar

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is not worried about the rakyat being stuck in the floods as he constantly changes the parliamentary seat he contests, in every general election, a PAS leader has alleged.

PAS Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said this when responding to a remark by the Tambun MP that the government is giving aid and assistance directly to those in need, including flood victims, and not necessarily through their respective MPs.

"Anwar said that assistance has been channelled to the relevant agencies and steps have been taken to ensure the people's welfare.

“But at the same time, we hear MPs, including those aligned to the government, appealing for flood aid to be channelled directly to them.

"I see how the prime minister cannot relate to what the parliamentarians, who are always with the rakyat, are feeling - maybe because he constantly changes constituencies (he contests in), so he does not know what the rakyat want," Ahmad Fadhli, who is also Pasir Mas MP, said in a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.

On another matter, Ahmad Fadhli (above) said that PAS Youth has lodged a police report against a Twitter account that tied the party with the terrorist group, ISIS.

"The allegations were clear. We ask the police to act on this matter as soon as possible, and arrest (the perpetrator) as such tweets can disrupt harmony and interracial relations in the country."

The said tweet was in reference to the controversial Himpunan Pemuda Islam Terengganu (Himpit) event organised by PAS in Setiu, Terengganu, last month, which saw participants marching on the streets with replicas of medieval weapons and armour.
