Wan Rosdy, Khaled lead Umno vice-presidency race

The race for the three vice-presidency positions continues with Pahang Umno liaison chief Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail taking the lead with 65 votes.

As of 10.50pm, incumbent Mohamed Khaled Nordin follows closely with 61 votes and Johari Abdul Ghani with 50 votes.

Azalina Othman Said, who is the only woman in the running for the position, has received 33 votes.

She is followed by Reezal Merican Naina Merican who has 25 votes.

Hasni Mohammad and incumbent Mahdzir Khalid have 16 votes and 11 votes respectively. Another candidate Mohd Yusof Musa received no votes.

Meanwhile, Shamsul Anuar Nasarah leads the candidates vying for positions in the Umno supreme working council with 50 votes, closely followed by Zambry Abdul Kadir at 48 votes.

Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz has obtained 47 votes thus far, followed by Bung Moktar Radin at 46 votes, party secretary-general Ahmad Maslan at 45 votes and Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim at 40 votes.

Those who have received fewer than 40 votes are Azian Osman (39 votes), Shahaniza Shamsudin (37 votes), Mohd Razlan Rafii (36 votes), while Ahmad Said (35 votes), Shaik Hussien Mydin (35 votes), Abdul Rahman Mohammad (34 votes), Mohd Shakar (33 votes), Isham Jalil (32 votes), Zahida Zarik Khan (32 votes), and Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman (31 votes).

With 28 votes each are Mohd Puad Zarkashi, Lokman Nor Adam, Mohd Fatmi Che Salleh and Johan Abdul Aziz, whereas Jalaluddin Alias and Jamil Khir Baharom have 26 votes.

The official results of the election will be announced by the Umno Election Committee chairperson Shahrir Samad after the completion of the vote tallying process and review.
