Kadir: Anwar stuck in time warp, past burdens

Veteran newsman A Kadir Jasin accused Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of being caught in a "time warp" with burdens from the past, even after more than 100 days in power.

According to Kadir (above), Anwar must move forward and use his powers to lead his new administration.

"You are very powerful. You are the prime minister and finance minister. You also oversee the federal territories, religious affairs and the law. Let's not even talk about allocations.

"So, let's make it happen. Move forward as a prime minister with dedication," said the former Bersatu supreme council member.

"Don't remain trapped in a time warp, fighting here and there with your own shadow," he said in a Facebook post.

Kadir did not refer to any specific issue but his post came a day after the PKR special congress.

Anwar, in his keynote address, made veiled attacks against former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, alluding to attempts at stoking racial tension.

The PKR president also reassured he would not act cruelly against any parties including opposition leaders, as he takes into account his own sufferings while out of power.

Meanwhile, Kadir said Anwar can remain nostalgic about his past, and it would be reported by the media.

However, he was quick to add that such sentiments will do little to help the people.

"We have to bury the hatchet, heal wounds and move on," added Kadir.
