Umno Ulama Council executive secretary Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali has been appointed as a religious adviser to Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

According to sources from the Deputy Prime Minister's Office, Khairuddin was appointed to hold the position on a pro bono basis and he will not be receiving a salary.
