Residents of 99 areas in Klang, Shah Alam, and Kuala Selangor are set to face water cuts next week due to emergency pipe repair works, Air Selangor announced today.

In a statement on Facebook, the state water supplier said the disruption will last from May 22 to 23, with the water supply expected to be fully restored by May 24 at night.

"The emergency repair works involve a main distribution pipe with a diameter of 2,200mm and a large-scale distribution area. Therefore, the repair works and recovery period will require a longer time.

"However, if the leak becomes critical, the emergency repair works will begin earlier than the date mentioned earlier," Air Selangor said.

It added that the duration of the supply disruption and recovery in affected areas would depend on the location of the consumers' premises, as well as the water pressure at the distribution system.

The company also advised affected customers to store adequate water and use water prudently during the disruption period.

Consumers can obtain information on the unscheduled water supply disruption through Air Selangor's official social media channels or by contacting 15300. You can check if your area is affected by the disruption here.
