Three seats left unresolved between PH, BN in Selangor - Amirudin

Only three seats are left unresolved between Selangor Pakatan Harapan and BN in their negotiations for the 56 seats to be contested in the upcoming state polls.

Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said they are resolving this matter.

“There were requests from both Harapan and BN to contest (the three seats).

“Our aim is to have a one-on-one fight. We must take advantage of our strength and uniqueness to achieve victory for the unity pact.

“We are leaving the fate of the three seats to the central leadership,” Amirudin said, as the New Straits Times reported today.

The Selangor Harapan chairperson did not want to name the three unresolved seats to avoid misunderstanding.

He acknowledged the importance of resolving this matter soon, as the deadline for seat negotiations is at the end of this month.

“We have decided on 53 state constituencies and all parties have to pick their candidates now and activate their election machinery.

“We can proceed with what has been agreed on and go straight to work,” he said.

Amirudin said a week ago that they had settled 49 out of the 56 state seats to be contested in the upcoming election.

He said the Selangor state assembly is set to dissolve automatically on June 25 if there is no request to dissolve it earlier.
