Police will record a statement from Kepala Batas MP Siti Mastura Muhammad next week over her allegedly slanderous remarks against DAP chairperson Lim Guan Eng.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigations Department director Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain reportedly said this will take place on Monday.
"For now we have received four police reports in connection with the issue and investigations are ongoing by Bukit Aman's Classified Crimes Investigations Unit," Shuhaily was quoted as saying by Berita Harian today.
Siti Mastura (above) is being investigated under Section 505(b) on statements conducing to public mischief, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 on abuse of a network facility, he added.
On Thursday, Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid lodged a police report against Siti Mastura for alleging that Lim was related to Communist Party of Malaya leader Ong Boon Hua, popularly known as Chin Peng, and Singapore’s first prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.
Siti Mastura, who repeatedly refused to clarify or provide evidence for her remarks, claimed that the alleged family connection was because Lim's father, Kit Siang, was the cousin of both Chin Peng and Lee.

The PAS lawmaker also alleged family ties between the Bagan MP and other DAP leaders such as party secretary-general Anthony Loke, Local Government Development Minister Nga Kor Ming, Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham, and Seputeh MP Teresa Kok.
Lim first raised the issue of Siti Mastura's remarks during a press conference in Parliament last week, and have since proceeded to initiate legal action against her.
She originally made the claim in her 46-minute speech to PAS’ women and young women’s wing members from Kemaman PAS, ahead of the upcoming Kemaman by-election.
