Hasbie Muda retains Amanah Youth chief post

Hasbie Muda has retained the position of Amanah Youth leader for a second term following the party wing’s election for the 2023-2026 session last night.

Hasbie, who was appointed to the Dewan Negara earlier this year, won the highest number of votes with 387 ballots received in the youth wing election.

Batu Tiga assemblyperson Danial Al Rashid Haron Aminar Rashid was elected as deputy youth leader, while the three vice youth chiefs are now Faris Arriffin, Ammar Atan, and Jeming Hassan.

The polls took place at the Grand Nexus Ballroom, Bangsar. Members of Amanah Youth selected 27 leaders to man its central committee, who will then choose the new leadership of the party wing.

A total of 577 delegates voted in this election out of a total of 840 eligible to vote. Five delegates did not return the voting paper.

Mohd Hazmir Suboh was also selected as deputy spokesperson of Amanah Youth while Luqman Fudail and Haris Omar were elected as auditors.

“We will strengthen Amanah Youth at the state, regional, and national levels. We will not hesitate to appoint a committee including the Amanah Youth state chiefs, based on the spirit of democracy.

“We will take time to refine it instead of arbitrarily make appointments and, going forward, we will commit our best efforts throughout the three years of the mandate,” said Hasbie in his inaugural speech.
