Monorail tyre catches fire
According to RapidKL, a conductor had at around 12.40pm, noticed smoke coming out from the side of the train as it approached the Chow Kit station...
The tyre on a RapidKL monorail train caught fire today, with a piece of the burning wheel falling onto the road.
According to RapidKL, a conductor had at around 12.40pm, noticed smoke coming out from the side of the train as it approached the Chow Kit station.
All passengers were evacuated at the station before the train was whisked off to the Titiwangsa station for inspection.
It was there that a piece of the burning tyre fell off onto the road below.
The Fire and Rescue Department reported no casualties or injuries from the burning debris.
The fire was put out at around 2pm.
RapidKL said it would cooperate with authorities and investigate the cause of the incident.
