Cops announce transfer exercise of 42 senior officers

There has been a shake-up of the police force with transfer exercises involving senior officers from Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Seremban, and Kedah, among others.

Johor deputy police chief M Kumar has been appointed as the Johor police chief with the rank of acting Commissioner of Police (CP) effective Jan 23, 2024.

Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) secretary Alzafny Ahmad said Afandi Senin from Bukit Aman will fill the vacancy left by Kumar with the rank of acting DCP.

Afandi is the principal assistant director (administration/general policing) at the Integrity Division of the Department of Integrity and Standards Compliance, Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur.

“Seremban district police chief Arifai Tarawe will fill the position vacated by Afandi, by assuming the rank of SAC,” Alzafny said in a statement last night.

He said this was part of an exchange exercise involving 42 senior PDRM officers nationwide.

Also changing positions are Bukit Aman Management Department administrative CP Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad, who has been appointed as director of the Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department.

Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur PDRM College commandant Anuar Othman was appointed as the deputy director of management (administration), at the Management Department in Bukit Aman.

“Deputy Kedah police chief Abu Samah Mohd Noor will fill the position of Kuala Lumpur PDRM College commandant, while Kedah Criminal Investigation Department head Adzli Abu Shah will fill the vacancy left by Abu Samah with the rank of acting DCP,” Alzafny said.

Meanwhile, Bukit Aman Special Branch E4 assistant director Zahib Sabari will take on the role of principal assistant director of the Bukit Aman Special Branch E4, with the rank of acting DCP.
