Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has added another special vehicle registration number to his collection after paying RM1.75 million for “FFF 1”.
Announcing the acquisition on his Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim expressed hope that the money from the bid would be used to assist the nation.
“His Majesty hopes that the bid amount channelled to the federal government can be used to help the people,” the statement today read.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke delivered the new record-setting number plate to the king.
Sultan Ibrahim is no stranger to winning bids, having previously set a record by bidding RM1.5 million for the “GOLD 1” registration in February.
Known for his collection of classic cars, he also paid RM1.2 million for the “FF 1” registration last year.
The bidding for the exclusive “FFF” registration numbers started on May 11 and ended on May 15. The exclusive release was in conjunction with the 78th Road Transport Department anniversary celebration.
