Two Palestinian children have expressed gratitude to a pro-Palestinian activist in Malaysia and Malaysians who consistently support Palestinians in their struggle.

In a TikTok video, the children conveyed their thanks through written messages. One of them, named Rawad, thanked hunger striker M Mythreyar.

“I’m Rawad from Gaza. My family and I want to thank you, M Mythreyar, from Malaysia. Thank you for supporting us and doing your best. We embrace your love, along with the people of Malaysia,” he said.

Mythreyar (above), 46, from Tanjung Malim, Perak, began a hunger strike in front of the Parliament building to protest the sale of shares in Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) to a company expected to be owned by Blackrock.

The action, initiated earlier this July, drew criticism from pro-Palestinian activists due to Blackrock’s investment in a company involved in arms sales to Israel amid the Gaza conflict.

“I will continue to fast until the government cancels the agreement,” Mythreyar stated.

His hunger strike, now on its second day, has seen him moving around Jalan Parlimen to downtown Kuala Lumpur.

Mythreyar is an active member of the Malaysian Tamil For Palestine NGO and has participated in various anti-Israel demonstrations in Kuala Lumpur.
