The US and Israel have the “same DNA” where both nations were built on stolen land by white settlers, Nobel Peace Prize 2024 nominee Maung Zarni said.

"Israel is doing exactly what the US did almost 300 years ago (against the native Americans).

"And so, this is really like two criminal states beyond the regime flocking together,” the Myanmarese human rights activist told Malaysiakini.

Elaborating further, Zarni (above) said it was no surprise that the US held close ties with Israel, supplying the latter with money and weapons as they were both administered by people he compared to the Nazis.

“The US and Israel are run by individuals as evil, pathetic, sick and criminals as the Nazis. Believe me, I have studied this type of creature for 32 years.

"I learned to recognise fascists/Nazis when I see them,” he commented.

Netanyahu akin to Hitler

Zarni also equated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler.

“The US government letting Netanyahu address the joint session of the congress on July 24 and meeting Netanyahu is like the US government or the United Kingdom Parliament allowing Hitler in 1942 to come and address these liberal parliamentarians or democratic institutions,” he said.

Zarni was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize this year by the 1976 winner of the prize Mairead Corrigan Maguire.

Billions in aid for Israel

It is to note that on April 24, the US Congress approved weapons aid worth US$17 billion to Israel for the conflict in Gaza. Palestinians in Gaza received humanitarian aid worth about US$9 billion.

According to the Council on Foreign Relations, the US has also inked an agreement with the Israeli regime to provide the latter with US$3.8 billion in funds until 2028.

Meawnhile, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) Department of International Relations, Security and Law professor Mohd Mizan Mohammad Aslam said Zarni is the best candidate to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Mizan said Zarni’s fight for world peace qualified him for the win as he is also outspoken against the ethnic cleansing committed by the Zionists against Palestinians.

"I see that he is a candidate who has been given recognition at the international level," he said.
