'I didn't sell a single screw': Felcra chairperson denies factory sale

Felcra Berhad chairperson Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub has strongly denied involvement in the alleged sale of a factory belonging to the government agency.

“I can confirm it is not just the factory. I did not sell even a single screw from the factory to anyone,” he said when met at an event in Renok Baru, Gua Musang as part of the Nenggiri by-election campaign.

Jazlan (above) said a police report has been made against the individual who made the accusation, believed to be Bersatu information committee member Badrul Hisham Shahrin, better known as Chegubard.

"I have been accused of selling the Felcra factory to other parties who were supposedly non-bumiputera during my tenure as Felcra chairperson. It never happened, it never reached my desk, I don't know about this matter.

“I challenge him (the accuser) to make a report to the MACC.

“If the allegations are true, I will resign as Felcra chairperson, or the prime minister of his deputy can sack me. I’m ready to be investigated and willing to go to court,” he said.

Last night in Sungai Asap, Badrul Hisham claimed that Felcra is trying to change the ownership of a factory it owns to a non-bumiputera company.

The factory is said to be located on state government land.

According to a Harakah Daily report yesterday, Badrul Hisham said the factory is an oil palm mill.

Felcra is in the process of creating a new joint venture entity to acquire the factories, he claimed.

He further claimed that local workers will be replaced by foreigners.
