National bowler Sin Li Jane became the first Asian to win the Player of the Year award in the US Professional Women's Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour.
This earned praise from Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh who congratulated her on X.
“Congratulations Sin Li Jane! She made history in the US PWBA Tour by becoming the first Asian to win the Player of the Year award,” she said.
According to New Straits Times, Sin, 32, clinched the award after securing her fourth title in Michigan yesterday.
In the one-game final at Thunderbowl Lanes, the second-seed defeated American top seed Jordan Richard 215-209, who was last year’s Player of the Year.

Prior to this, she was also triumphant in the US Open, Greater Nashville Classic and Journal Rockford Open.
In June, Sin also made history when she became the first Malaysian to win the US Women's Open in Indianapolis.
The previous best achievement of a Malaysian in the tournament was in 2008, when former bowling ace Shalin Zulkifli finished third.
