Umno Youth is thinking of seeking an audience with the Pahang ruler over an alleged addendum order for Najib Abdul Razak to serve his remaining jail sentence under house arrest.
Its chief Dr Akmal Saleh told a press conference today that they will first wait until the former prime minister’s appeal on the matter is concluded in court.
“First of all, because the (alleged) addendum order has been handed to the government, of course, we want to get the government to respond to the matter (first).
“If there is one, why was it not executed?
“Maybe we can also seek an audience with Tuanku (Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah) to better understand what has really happened,” Akmad said.

On April 17, Najib’s lead counsel Muhammad Shafee Abdullah demanded the government explain why it was allegedly concealing the existence of a royal supplementary order, which he claimed contained a provision for house arrest.
The lawyer also claimed that he received no response to the letters he sent to multiple ministers seeking confirmation of the royal addendum, including Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
On July 13, the Kuala Lumpur High Court dismissed Najib’s legal action over the existence of the alleged royal supplementary order.
He has since taken up the matter with the Court of Appeal and the court has set Oct 7 for case management.
No rush
On that note, Akmal said they would not rush the meeting with the ruler as Najib himself had sought legal redress on the matter.
“We will wait first... because now Najib is in the process of appeal in court over the addendum order.
"We respect every decision made by the court, and of course, we have to deal with all these issues wisely.
"I believe if (Najib) is given due justice, it will satisfy every quarter. Insha-Allah, we wait for the court decision and after that, we will take the next action," he said.
