Former deputy communications and multimedia minister Eddin Syazlee Shith passed away at 7.10am today at his home in Bukit Chedang, Seremban.

Negeri Sembilan Perikatan Nasional chairperson Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker said the 50-year-old PN state adviser’s health had been deteriorating over the past five months and he had been receiving medical treatment.

“Eddin was brought home yesterday after receiving treatment at a private hospital. We have been with his family since last night. His passing is a great loss for the PN state chapter.

“Our deepest condolences to the family of Eddin Syazlee. May his soul be blessed,” he told Bernama.

The late Eddin is also a former Kuala Pilah MP and had previously served as deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and deputy public works minister.

His remains will be taken to Masjid Chedang for prayers and later laid to rest at the Bandar Ainsdale Muslim cemetery.

He leaves behind his wife, Dr Nurul Azlin Ibrahim, two sons, and a daughter.

Taking to X, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil expressed his condolences to Eddin’s family.

Fahmi said Eddin was an experienced and open-minded colleague in the political arena.

"I pray that his soul be blessed and placed among the faithful and righteous.

"Condolences to his entire family. Al-Fatihah," he posted.
