Petronas obtains licence to explore oil, gas in Abu Dhabi
The Emirates of Abu Dhabi’s Financial and Economic Affairs supreme council has agreed to grant Malaysia's state oil company Petroliam Nasional Malaysia (Petronas) an exploration licence in the Al Dhafra region in the west of the emirate, reported Sputnik, quoting the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

The Emirates of Abu Dhabi’s Financial and Economic Affairs supreme council has agreed to grant Malaysia's state oil company Petroliam Nasional Malaysia (Petronas) an exploration licence in the Al Dhafra region in the west of the emirate, reported Sputnik, quoting the Abu Dhabi Media Office.
"The supreme council has granted a new oil and gas exploration concession in Onshore Block 2, located within the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi, to Petronas, the Malaysian national oil and gas company," the agency said in a statement on Thursday.
This licence is the third "exploration concession awarded to Petronas", the statement added. The area of Onshore Block 2 is 7,320sqkm.
Advanced technologies and artificial intelligence solutions will reportedly be used in the exploration, the statement read.
