MACC to continue grilling FashionValet founders tomorrow

The MACC will resume taking statements from FashionValet Sdn Bhd founders Vivy Yusof and Fadzaruddin Shah Anuar tomorrow.

The New Straits Times quoted a source from the anti-graft agency saying the questioning today was expected to conclude around 10pm, with further questioning expected to start at 10am tomorrow.

The married couple arrived at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at 2pm earlier. As of 8pm, the couple were still being questioned by the graft busters.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009, which pertains to making false claims.

Earlier today, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said in a text message that apart from the couple, investigators have also recorded statements from four individuals who worked at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Permodalan Nasional Berhad, and the Finance Ministry.

“All of them are officers in charge of investment affairs (at the respective agencies),” he said, without elaborating further.

Yesterday, the MACC raided FashionValet’s office in Kuala Lumpur as part of investigations into the local fashion brand.

This comes after Khazanah and PNB recorded RM43.9 million in losses after investing in the company.

According to a separate report by the New Straits Times, FashionValet’s financial filings showed the company experienced five years of significant losses before Khazanah and PNB’s investment in 2018.

Vivy and Fadzaruddin have since stepped down from the company.
