Papagomo denies defaming IGP, says ready to prove words in court

The top cop is suing the blogger, known as Papagomo, over the allegation that Razarudin is a lackey of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The blogger alternatively raises the defence of justification, saying he is ready to prove his words in court, claiming that the suit is an attempt to silence critics of the government.

“The plaintiff also cannot prevent the defendant from exercising the right to free speech whether to air the defendant’s opinions and/or views in line with existing laws and this is a right guaranteed by the Federal Constitution,” Wan Azri said.
The defendant claimed that the lawsuit was an abuse of the court process and an attempt to silence critics of the government such as himself.
On Dec 26 last year, Razarudin filed the civil action to seek general, aggravated, exemplary, and special damages.
He sued the blogger in his personal capacity in response to Wan Azri’s YouTube and TikTok videos accusing Razarudin of being a lackey to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
The top cop seeks an injunction to prevent the blogger from further defaming him.
Razarudin is seeking an order to compel Wan Azri to retract the defamatory statements, as well as delete all allegedly defamatory videos, publications, messages, or materials.
The plaintiff also seeks an order for the defendant to issue an apology.
Law firm Law Practice of Rafique is representing Wan Azri while counsel Raam Kumar is acting for Razarudin.
