Tariffs on Europe 'pretty soon', says Trump
US President Donald Trump did not provide a timeline for the promised introduction of tariffs on goods from the European Union but indicated that it would happen soon.

As for trade with the UK, BBC quoted the US president describing the country as being “out of line” but added that the issues could be resolved.
“The UK is out of line. But I’m sure that one, I think that one, can be worked out,” he said.
Trump also said he would discuss his decision to impose tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada with the leaders of the countries on Monday.
“I’m speaking with Prime Minister (Justin) Trudeau tomorrow morning, and I’m also speaking with Mexico tomorrow morning, and I don’t expect anything very dramatic.
“We put tariffs on, they owe us a lot of money, and I’m sure they’re gonna pay,” he told reporters at the airport on his way to the White House when asked about the possibility of contacts.
The conversation was broadcast on US TV channels.
Tariff war
Earlier, it was reported that the US president introduced tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada at the level of 25 percent, except for Canadian energy resources, for which the rate will be 10 percent. A 10 percent tariff was also slapped on China.
The tariffs will come into effect on Feb 4.
Reuters reported Trump as stating that the tariffs are essential to stop immigration and narcotics trafficking and drive domestic industries.
“We (Americans) may have short-term, some little pain, and people understand that. But long term, the US has been ripped off by virtually every country in the world,” he said.
