The incident caused a temporary service disruption between the PWTC, Titiwangsa, Sentul, and Sentul Timur stations.
Teams from the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department, Sentul police, as well as a medical team, were on-site to remove the body and investigate the incident.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd, operator of the Ampang-Sri Petaling LRT line, has confirmed that a body was found on the tracks at the Titiwangsa station in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
The company also confirmed there was a temporary service disruption between PWTC, Titiwangsa, Sentul, and Sentul Timur, to make way for operations involving the police, Fire and Rescue Department, as well as emergency services.
Separately, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) operations centre, as well as Sentul district police, identified the body found dead on the scene to be a blind Chinese man.
KL FRD operations commander Fadil Hesam Mohd said teams from the Sentul and Titiwangsa fire stations were ordered to the scene based on an emergency call received at 8.38am through the MERS-999 system.
“Further checks found the victim was blind, and based on initial investigations, it is believed the victim fell on the tracks before being hit by a passing train.
“The incident is believed to have happened due to the victim’s loss of balance, without being noticed by the train driver,” he said.
Fadil said authorities followed all necessary procedures in removing the body from the scene, to ensure safety and smooth ongoing investigations.
“Authorities are continuing with further probes to identify the cause of the incident and to take appropriate actions.
“The investigations will also involve checks on train operation records at the time of the incident,” he added.
