It is appropriate for the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) Act 1981 to be amended following significant changes in the country’s film industry, said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

Fahmi said that amendments are also warranted as the industry faces challenges from rapid technological advancements, with live streaming becoming increasingly popular.
