Ratu Naga 'sorry' over 'Chinese Negaraku' claim, deflects blame
A Pro-Perikatan Nasional activist has “apologised” to students of a Chinese school in Teluk Intan after she uploaded a video on her social media account claiming they had sung the national anthem in Chinese during an event at the school.
Taking to TikTok, Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah, better known as Ratu Naga, said she has problems understanding “bahasa pelat” (distortion to language) and blamed Pakatan Harapan cybertroopers for downloading the video and making it viral instead.

“So, to the kids, I apologise because I don’t understand ‘bahasa pelat’ but I must say the video was not made viral by my platform… it was done by Madani cybertroopers,” she said.
Yesterday, Perak state executive councillor Woo Kah Leong condemned allegations that a school in Teluk Intan had sung the national anthem in Chinese during an event at the school.
He said the attendees at the event were in fact singing the Perak state anthem “Allah Lanjutkan Usia Sultan”, which has a melody similar to the national anthem “Negaraku”.
The audio of the clip appears distorted. While a melody resembling either Negaraku or “Allah Lanjutkan Usia Sultan” can be heard, it is difficult to discern its lyrics.
Earlier today, the Education Ministry also criticised the influencer over the matter and warned the public against falling for what it described as “malicious slander” intended to sow division and threaten national unity.
‘Why repost something I deleted?’
Syarul Ema said she had taken down the video within 10 minutes after uploading it on her social media accounts but Harapan cybertroopers had illegally downloaded the content and made it viral.
The PN activist also said she could not be fully blamed for misinterpreting the footage, adding that “others heard it wrongly too.”
“But my question is, why did Madani cybertroopers spread something I didn’t approve… I have taken down the video.
“It’s different if it went viral and invited slander (from her platform), but I have deleted it,” Syarul Ema added.
As for the video, Syarul Ema said she merely pointed out that it is illegal for anyone to change the national anthem and its lyrics.
“And I never questioned anything about the Perak anthem,” she added.
