The issue of two temples illegally encroaching on land for a mosque in Dengkil, Selangor was peacefully resolved today.
Those responsible for the temples agreed to leave the area after a discussion at the site between the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) and the Indian community.
During Jais' visit, it found that a Hindu temple and a small Chinese temple were built on the land gazetted as the site of the new Dengkil mosque.
Dengkil state assembly coordinator Noorazli Said, who participated in the visit to the site this morning, confirmed that the land remains the site of the new Dengkil mosque.
He also confirmed that the temples are willing to leave the site and clear the area of any construction.
"The Jais land for the Dengkil mosque remains. Construction will begin as soon as possible.

"There is no compensation or claim from the encroaching party. It must be restored to its original condition," he said.
It is understood that residents explained that the construction of the temples was done illegally by those in the community.
Install fencing
Aside from Noorazli, Jais deputy director of management Faizal Abd Raji and Sepang district officer Khairi Azali Ibrahim were among those who participated in the visit.
Dengkil village head Al Rasyid Ab Rani suggested that Jais install a fence around the gazetted area.
He said that the land encroached upon by the illegally built houses of worship had been gazetted for a new mosque in 2012.
In his latest Facebook post, Al Rasyid, who is also the Dengkil village development and security committee chairperson, said that he has lodged a police report over the matter.
He expressed his disappointment that Jais had not filed a report as well.
