Transport Minister Anthony Loke thanks Pakatan Harapan’s political rivals who mocked him with a caricature of his image during the Ayer Kuning by-election nomination day.
The DAP secretary-general said he actually liked the design of the poster which portrayed him in a “shushing” pose.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke has spoken up to thank Pakatan Harapan’s political rivals who brandished a caricature of his image in a “shushing” pose.
The DAP secretary-general specifically thanked Perikatan Nasional supporters who carried the poster during the Ayer Kuning by-election nomination on Saturday.
“I actually like the design (of the caricature), so thank you to those who brought the poster because it features my image so prominently.
“Even though I wasn’t present on nomination day, they held up my image as if they were my supporters,” he said with a smile.
Loke was speaking to reporters after a DAP aid distribution event earlier today for victims of the gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.
The caricature poster was spotted during the nomination day for the Ayer Kuning state by-election in Perak, where a group of PN supporters carried it as a form of protest.
According to a Gerakan source, the poster was intended as a response to Loke’s remarks, which were perceived as belittling the concern shown by the public over DAP setting up a fund to assist victims of the gas explosion.

“This is a message that the people cannot be silenced. Don’t be arrogant just because you’re in power,” said one PN supporter present at the scene.
The protest was believed to have been a jab at Loke, who previously told certain quarters to “keep quiet” after the fund was criticised.
On April 10, DAP’s mouthpiece The Rocket reported that the party successfully raised RM965,539.44 for the emergency relief fund and no longer accepted further donations.
DAP disbursed the amount raised to the victims today.
The party gave RM5,000 each to residents who lost their homes and RM2,000 to those whose homes were partially damaged.
