MCMC summons influencer over offer to 'scrut' Nurul Izzah

MCMC has summoned an influencer for questioning over an offer to conduct an in-depth background check on PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar, through a system known as “Scrut Analytica”.

Posting on Facebook, the system’s co-founder Aliff Ahmad said he received an official notice summoning him to be present at the MCMC headquarters in Cyberjaya at 8pm today.

However, Aliff said he informed the officer that he would not be able to make it for the questioning session, and instead demanded that the authorities produce an arrest warrant.

“I have things to attend to. I can’t make it. I told them to go see the magistrate tomorrow morning, show them my post, and ask for an arrest warrant.

“Just prepare some documents tonight. Face the magistrate tomorrow,” he said.

In his post, he shared a screenshot of an earlier post asking what Nurul Izzah, who is Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s daughter, works as and how she funds her political career.

He said he will ‘scrut’ (scrutinise via Scrut Analytica) Nurul Izzah if the post gets 20,000 shares.

In the post today, he went on to say he previously lodged a report with MCMC over a website which allegedly sells leaked National Registration Department data.

He claimed that nothing has been done to the website, and until today, it is still standing.

“I find it laughable that the MCMC is so eager to investigate a post which I’m confident contains nothing illegal or criminal.

“Meanwhile, out there, how many posts, videos, or images are vile, disgusting, obscene, pornographic, and blatantly violate the Communications and Multimedia Act - yet they’re left uninvestigated?” he questioned.

He added that he is not scared of the situation, but instead finds it exciting.
