A senior aide to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is leading calls of support from five out of six Malacca PKR divisions for party vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar to rise up and contest the party deputy president’s post.

PKR vice-president Shamsul Iskandar Akin, who is also PKR Hang Tuah Jaya chief, in a joint statement endorsed by the Alor Gajah, Tangga Batu, Jasin, and Kota Melaka division chiefs, declared support for Nurul Izzah to challenge incumbent PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli.
