'Don't repeat past mistakes,' Perlis PKR reminds members

A Perlis PKR delegate debating party president Anwar Ibrahim’s policy speech has called on the party not to repeat past mistakes, which had led to its fracture.

Reflecting on the just-concluded PKR election for the 2025-2028 term, Kangar PKR Youth chief Khalid Imran Mas Ahmad Nasruddin reiterated calls for members to reunite after the heated campaigns.

“Let me emphasise - every election has its winners and losers. But in this struggle, no one wins alone.

“Those who win should not be arrogant, and those who lose should not retreat.

“Both sides must unite as one team. We must harness our collective strength to face the coming general election,” he said.

Last night, PKR Election Committee chief Dr Zaliha Mustafa confirmed Nurul Izzah Anwar’s victory against Rafizi Ramli, who made a “solo walk” into the National Congress hall at Persada International Convention Centre, Johor Bahru.

Two leaders in Rafizi’s “cai” - Chang Lih Kang and Aminuddin Harun - secured two out of the four vice-president positions.

At the central leadership council level, the unofficial winners’ list named three contenders from Rafizi’s team.

In his debate, Khalid reminded that those who lost are also pillars on the path to victory.

“Let us not cast them aside. Keep an open mind and make space for the experience and energy of those still eager to serve.

“Let us not repeat past mistakes by allowing the party to fracture over differences in opinion,” he said.
