PKR Youth’s political bureau announced a pro tem chief and deputy chief for Sabah as part of preparations for the upcoming state election.

“To ensure coordination and continuity of operations, the PKR Youth political bureau has decided to appoint individuals to several key positions ahead of the full leadership appointments for the 2025 to 2028 term,” it said in a statement today.

For now, Zaidi Jatil will serve as the Sabah PKR Youth chief while Vincent Fung will be the deputy chief and Sabah election committee director.

Other positions appointed for the time being include:

  • Election director: Izuan Kasim

  • Secretary: Omar Mokhtar A Manap

  • Treasurer: Hilmy Yakap

“All these appointments will carry out their duties until the official leadership appointments are finalised at the upcoming PKR Youth leadership council meeting, scheduled to take place in the near future,” the bureau said.

It added that the bureau held its first meeting on May 26, where discussions were held to strengthen the youth wing for this term.

“Several key matters were raised during the discussions, including a focus on post-election policy direction, particularly involving youth development, institutional reform, and governance.

“The meeting also touched on preparations for the upcoming Sabah state election, which is expected to take place soon.

“PKR Youth’s current focus is on machinery readiness, strategic planning, and consolidating grassroots support,” it said.

PKR Youth chief Kamil Munim and his deputies held a meeting with Sabah division leaders as well, it added.
