Sabah PAS leader's home splashed with red paint in suspected threat

Sabah PAS commissioner Aliakbar Gulasan has lodged a police report over an alleged intimidation act by unidentified individuals.

Aliakbar lodged his report at Alamesra police station in Kota Kinabalu yesterday after his child found a piece of paper with the word “Datuk” written in red paint, along with a stone, outside their home gate at around 8pm.

“Also found was a transparent plastic bag containing a stone and red paint, which had splattered onto the wall of my house.

“The purpose of my police report is to notify the authorities for security reasons, as I am worried something worse might happen in the future, aside from enabling further police action,” Sinar Harian quoted him as saying.

Aliakbar, however, declined to point fingers at any suspects but stressed that if the act was politically motivated, it was unacceptable.

“We are not making any accusations or linking it to any issue. But if this is politically motivated, I regard it as outdated politics.

“This should not be repeated. We celebrate democracy in peace and harmony. Personally, I have never engaged in politics that involve insults or slander," he said.

“I continue to participate in politics with manners and ethics. I hope others, whether members of the public or politicians, will also practise a healthy political culture because our society is inherently gentle.

“I do not wish to make any allegations, but from now on I will be more cautious during the campaign period,” he added.
